Is It True

by shotgun14, Jan 05, 2008 11:20PM
Question: Is it true that white patches on the throat from a sore throat suggest its another common dieases and not ARS. I heard this from someone who is suppose to be a training doctor. He said usually primary HIV infected patients will not have white patches on their throat if it is indeed ARS. He said it suggest more of a tonsil or larynx viral infection rather than HIV. I had to ask you this cause I had never heard this before and I wanted to know your thoughts.

Hmmm that's rather interesting. Well we got into this long discussion on illnesses in general and of course I brought up ARS and he told me that in ARS cases white patches don't indicate ARS. I can see strep being an opportunistic dieases, but we were only talking about ARS at the time. I just wanted a second opinion cause it was interesting
