Forgive me but i'm just trying to learn. I may have asked before but did not see an answer.  Is the human mouth considered "outside the host"?

Thanks. I understand that saliva inhibits HIV but is HIV in the mouth area considered "outside the host"?

Sorry for the confusion.  Let me try again.

If someone (HIV+) is bleeding in the mouth..Does that blood in their mouth become non-infectious since it's not in the blood stream. Is this considered outside host?

You can't give HIV to yourself. How did you get blood in your mouth?

I wasn't referring to oral sex.  If you have blood in your mouth, is that considered outside the host / body?
