I have a question about thrush. From the pictures I have looked at I am not certain that I am experiencing thrush symptoms but wanted your advice. I am getting white spots
on my inner cheeks. Sometimes they are easy to wipe off. Other times it takes a bit of effort with my fingernail. When the white stuff comes out it has the consistency of mucous or a booger. Sometimes my cheeks look pink but I can rub my nail across it and I will get a bunch of this white mucous like substance
out of my mouth for a few weeks now it has me very concerned that I may have a Candida infection. Can anyone please verify what a thrush lesion would look like when it is scraped off the inner cheek. And does what I am describing sound like it might be thrush. Sometimes these white spots are easy enough to rub off with my tongue. My inner cheek feels raw like I have been biting it. There is never any bleeding when the white substance is wiped away. And like I mentioned. Even if there is no visible white spots in my mouth I van run my finger along my cheek and gumline and scrape out a white pasty substance. When I run the substance between my fingers it seems to just disappear. If there is a white spot that is scraped away it either looks like skin or mucous.
Your response is much appreciated
thank you
Thanks lizzy. But that does not answer my question about what thrush looks like. And the substance I am able to remove from my mouth daily. Is it possible it is thrush?
no one here can diagnose whether or not you have thrush...geeeeeeeez. get off the internet looking at pictures and make an appt to see your doctor. HE will tell you whether or not you have thrush.
First of all you may or may not have thrush. Even if you have, it does not mean you have HIV. You can get thrush for many different reasons. See a doctor to diagnose thrush. In addition, if you haven't had unprotected anal or vaginal sex or injected drugs, you are at no risk for HIV. Good luck!
