I have 0g plugs in my ears and my friend who I had not seen in a while came over tonight and I noticed that his were quite small so I told him how I had gauged mine to a 0g almost immediately and explained how the personal lubricant is what works for me so that it does not hurt and just slide in. So that being said we proceeded to stretch his ears from like a 6g to a 0g so we sterilized my old gauges and I would lube the gauges for him and he would slide em through his ears never bleeding from a 6g to a 4g then to a 2g and this whole time he never complained about pain or it hurting and he did not seem to bleed at all. I did handle the tapers that he would give to me after being in his ear without any gloves. When it got to the leap between 2g and 0g I put on gloves and did it myself I pushed those suckers in in no time and there seemed to be no blood. I took off the plastic gloves and washed my hands and everytime I would touch his used gauges and stuff I would put on sanitizer but then he wanted to switch the tapers to gauges same size though and I told him it was too quick but I still helped him. I tried switching them in one ear and when I took the taper out blood oozed out and then I put the gauge in and more blood oozed out so I took out the gauge and put the taper back and even more blood oozed out. While I did all this I had put on the same plastic gloves back on. After that I took em off and I washed my hands but I was worried because there is was blood on the gloves and I dont know if the gloves ripped from me pulling them off the first time. My hands seem to be fine no cuts except for a hangnail and my nails being bitten way too short that it kind of hurts. I am just curious to know if there is any risk at all or if I should just be careful and use gloves like I did because I did a bit of research and just read that til this day there has never been a documented case of HIV transmission from piercings. Having read that I assume it is only to be careful and to preven from Hepatitis. Also I remember someone telling me in this forum that most HIV facts are myths like sharing razors because the HIV virus dies within seconds to minutes and therefore there is no risk. Also Because I read somewhere that you need the blood to blood transmission to be so real and risky at a cellular level that it actually enters your blood stream immediately (like anal sex, sharing needles where both people are pierced or penetrated with the needle, etc...) than by things like a little bit of blood or semen on your skin or that the cut has to be so fresh and oozing with blood for it to be considered a risk. That being said I am more curious than scared and axious, I just want to know and separate facts from fiction and hopefully debunking the myths.
