gland is connected with HIV?
I know that LAS has to be general, but someone who is HIV+ told me that everything begun with just ONE swollen gland under the ear.
Is it possible?
Thanks a lot
Paolo
receiving oral sex did not put you at risk for contracting hiv...
if someone has swollen lymph nodes from ars...they would have swollen nodes all over their body...not just one single node behind the ear.
There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD
"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD
"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK
in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
The observation on thousand and thousand of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort). DR. HOOK
I thank you so much Lizzie Lou
I know everything, but I was really scared hearing that guy saying that his seroconversion begun JUST with ONE swollen gland behind the ear.
He did not tell us about his risk, but anyway his story could tell us that lymphoadenopaty could be referred to just ONE swollen gland.
That concern was the focal point of my question
Any thoughts?
your symtoms (symptoms) does not indicate ars , and you cannot diagnose hiv by symtoms (symptoms), if you had an exposure then test at 3 months post exposure to get a conclusive negative report.
you should not trust on personal experiences which are reported by unknown and nonprofessional positive persons.doctors here say swollen glands in ars are not just in 1 or 2 places they are all over the body.since you didnt have any risk you should not be concerned about ars symptoms they will not happen to you if you have one swollen gland it can be due to hundreds and hundreds of viruses and infections but forget HIV.
I totally agree on general lynfoadenopaty, but I also believe that guy was not telling the false.
IF the swollen nodes cannot be evaluated by ourselves,I was wondering if mine is the only one I have or not.
This is just to analyze the chapter of nodes, not only regarding my own situation.
My node is evident but I could have others, and,if it was the case,it could be general swelling.
Does it sound?
It was just to say
The guy on the net said:"Who knows my history knows that all begun with a single swollen node behind the ear.
It was reactive,so the doctors thought it was a carcinoma.
Fortunately it was HIV,so I can still speak about it"
Regardless the risk,do you think It's possible having just ONE swollen node as HIV sintome?
I think that info could help a lot
Thanks
