Just to be sure...

Just to be sure...

Hi everyone. This is the first time i post a question here. I hope someone can give me an answer, please.
I just wanted to know if an ELISA test done in 2007 (16 weeks post exposure, low risk, negative result) was accurate. I mean, I don´t know 2 years ago wich generation of HIV test was used. (2nd-3rd-4th??)  I don´t know why I'm asking this, I was calm and confident everything was ok (never had unprotected sex again), but now I'm getting married and have to test for HIV one more time and it's freaking me out!!!

Thank you all for your help!!

An HIV antibody test taken 3 months or later(yours was 4 months)  after a risk is CONCLUSIVE. You are NEGATIVE. Generation of test is irrelevant after about 3 weeks.

Thank you JC for your reply!!

That's what I thought, that generation of test is irrelevant. Just wanted to be sure.
