hello, you mentioned that kissing is not a risk of hiv transmission. seanjiang's post stated that even you have these kinds of sores in the mouth or wound still you cannot acquire hiv. i am just confused because i know that if there is an open wound or let say a portal of entry a person can acquire the virus. it is somehow contradicting to the statement above, can you please enlighten me about my confusion? thank you..
a person who has canker sore kissed a person of hiv positive with also have a canker sore... they both have canker sore and 1 is positive. is it right that the negative person can acquire the virus because of portal of entry?
" We get many questions about kissing and oral exposure and whether or not the presence of a cold sore, bites to the lip, gum disease or other wounds in or around the mouth changes the answer to the question. The answer is no. The data which define the absence of any risk of getting HIV through kissing, deep or otherwise has be generated through studies of thousand and thousands of persons, some of whom had cold cores, cuts, etc. There is no risk.
