Life falling apart! Please help

Hi there, I am very scared. I received protected anal sex, gave and received unprotected oral sex and my anus was fingered and rimmed. I started with abdominal discomfort, penis tip felt odd and my body was itchy about 2 weeks after exposure. I went to doctor and had bloodwok done. All came back negative. Week 3 I started feeling light headed and weak. I noticed a splinter nail hemorrhage I have never had. I had a couple on different fingers. Week 4 I had a blood blister on my palate, night sweats and a white tongue. No fever throughout this time. I also started feeling limb numbness especially when sleeping. At week 6 I got tested and once again was negative. I still remain foggy and not myself but now have sore muscle and joints with burning sensation in muscles and cramping. I know not to rely on symptoms but this is crazy. To add insult to injury my wife is sick with with flu like symptoms for almost 3-4 weeks. She was breastfeeding and now my son has been sick for this period and experienced an unusual diaper rash and persistent cough. Appetite is also off. Can you please help me control my anxiety somehow. I am losing my mind. I plan on testing at 12 weeks but I have about 4 weeks to go.

Well I am negative for HIV, Hep C and Syphilis at 12 weeks. My ID doc said that what ever is going on has nothing to do with my exposure. I feel better or I'm trying to move on. All I can say is that I sm not the same person and still have symptoms. Maybe it isn't HIV but it can't be a coincidence that 2-3 weeks after my exposure I become symptomatic for the last 3 months. I've lost weight, still experiencing muscle and joint pain, and still altered sensations in hands mostly. So I have no choice to move on from this forum because it isn't HIV so I thank all of you for your blunt comments to try to knock some sense to me. I never wanted to prove you wrong. However, I move on not knowing where to go. My MD thinks it is anxiety and I can assure you that it isn't anymore. I have a neuro, rheum, and cardio appts over the next two weeks. I really need some answers so I can treat whatever it is I have. It has been a difficult time for my family and I hope that I can turn the corner and get my life back. Thank you all for taking the time to respond to my post.

It is not HIV! Your six week duo is over the window period which is between 3 to 4 weeks after exposure. You need to see your doctor for the other symptoms.

Thank you Vance. I appreciate your response. I turned to this forum to seek information and compassion to help me through these tough last 10 weeks.  I just have a couple follow up questions. Is this always the case? Are there not situations where symptoms have lasted longer than the 1-2 week period or have been more atypical?

If one is to have symptoms they come on at 2-4 weeks and last 1-2 weeks. This is not you.

I'm still having sore muscles and sharp burning sensations. I am tired and if I lift or do anything day to day my muscles feel unusually sore. Joints are also sore. My eyes feel swollen and with floaters. I'm now going on my 10 week post exposure.

My wife has had a sore throat for weeks, rash and fatigued as well. Does not seem like your typical flu! I have told her to see if guilt or anxiety would subside but I am not much better symptom wise.

Hard for me to dismiss I had no exposure risk! Anyone please comment. I just need someone to help me through this.

I just need to clarify. Let's say I did have risk...why are my symptoms not HIV as you said. Everyone always says not to go by symptoms but you said that my symptoms are not HIV but something else so see a dr. I have seen and I am seeing a dr. However, I am still waiting for 3 'month test.

At the risk of being one of those posters that keep posting...Should I be concerned about hep to explain muscle and joint pain??

Your guilt about cheating on your wife is manifesting itself by causing extreme anxiety over a no risk situation. As you have been told by prior posters, your symptoms are not caused by HIV.

I did the HIV 1 and 2 P24 combo I think it is called at 6 weeks. It was negative. I had sex with my wife at 2-3 weeks when I was fairly asymptomatic. I had abdominal pain/discomfort but really nothing else except itchiness on my body (not really localized). The tip of my penis felt weird but I never saw any discharge. I did see clear fluid in tip but I dismissed it as urine. I tested negative for chlymidia, gonarrhea and syphillis. Could it be hep? I tested negative for that as well but my muscles and joints are sore all over. The splinter hemorrhages on my nails and now my wife's is freaking me out. If I didn't see it on her I might be calmer but every time I see her I start falling apart.

You can have a duo hiv test at 28 days post exposure which would be conclusive.
Also for your information, symptoms of std,s are a vaginal discharge in women, green discharge could be related to Trich or vaginal sore from herpes or canker sore from syphilis.
In men it would be a urethra irration like burning while urinating or a white puss discharge that show up in the morning prior to urinating.

My wife also is experiencing flu like symptoms, very tired and I am witnessing similar changes in her nails. If not HIV, can it be another virus or STD?

How can I dismiss it that easily. I have fatigue, stiff neck, sore muscles, neuropathy, oral manifestations (ulceration, dry mouth, white tongue), nail changes, groin lymph nodes swollen, abdominal pain, constipation and I'm foggy/lightheaded. How can I not be concerned??

See a Dr, they have nothing to do with HIV. Even if you had a risk (which you didn't) still would have nothing to do with HIV.

How do I explain all these symptoms? I know anxiety can cause a lot but blood blister on palate, nail hemorrhages, plus all the limb numbness, soreness and pain. I was perfectly healthy before exposure. Could it have triggered something else?
