If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
Hello all. I waited 25 days (which the CDC lists as the average HIV infection time) to get tested. My HIV I rapidRapid shallow breathing test results came back non-responsive (negative), which was a huge relief to me. I did look at the rest of my blood test results; however, and noticed that my lymphocyte count was 24%, which is on the low end of the range from 20-50%. I also noticed that my MPV count was also low at 6.9FL, under the normalNormal saline flush value range of 7.4-10.4.
My question is, could it be possible for my lymphocyte count to fall without the HIV antibody present? I'm worried that this may be a progression of undetected HIV, and the fact that I took the test at 25 days instead of 6 weeks makes me worried as well.
Part of me regrets looking at that portion of the blood test beacause I should be happy with the negative at 24 days. I just want to understand if the low lymphocytes can be a precursor of things to come.
Crix. This is unreal. I was searching for information on lymphocytes and saw your post. I am now 23 days past my suspect day (brushed with needle), and have the same lymphocytes results as you. 24%! What is your monocytes count....mine is 10%, which is high. I'm not sure if this means anything.....let me know, tom in sc
From what i read one blood cell has an impact on other blood cells. High neutrophylls usually cause lymphocytes to go down. Other factors such as stress also have a big impact on lymphocytes that's why you can't look at these results.
Hello! Everybody, Could someone possibly help me figure out something? I got a confusion about HIV antibody test. Nowadays, there are 2 types of HIV tests called Rapid Oral HIV Test & HIV Blood Test. If the Viral Load in my Blood is less than 30copies, does this mean negative result in the tests? Or can it be detected even 1 cell contains in blood? I appreciate everyone's answers. Thank you...
