Lubricants

Lubricants

i read about Lubricants and condoms..
but I'd like to understand something..
is this to decrease chances of failing of the condom?
or this is important thing not to let virus transmit although the condom didn't fail?

Lubricants are to reduce friction. The use of a water base lubricants help with the reduction of condom failures. Has nothing to do with preventing HIV infections.
