Lymph Node Question

About a year after potential exposure, I started to get aching inguinal lymph nodes. This persisted for a few months until I also started to develop several more lymph nodes in the neck and axillary region. They are not large, confirmed shotty by a Dr. and I have had them to date.

Is it possible for lymph nodes to show up like this after a YEAR from potential exposure?

See a doctor if you are having problems. Do people with HIV get swollen lympth nodes? Yes. I get them every now and then and they are not related to HIV infection.

I did see my doctor and she wasn't too concerned, she said I had shotty lymph nodes. My complete blood count came back normal. She has referred me to an ENT specialist for a possible biopsy.

If I had contracted HIV 2 years ago, would it take a year for them to come up like this?

You can not go by symptoms to diagnose HIV. You will need to test.

Lymph nodes can swell due to numerous reasons, but why do you want to guess it?

It's been a year after your exposure all you're supposed to do is get a rapid test know it in 20 mins.

Use google or try calling your local AIDS/ HIV helpline, that'll help you to locate a testing center as well as the question abt the rapid test.
