I just received a phone call from my ID doctor and the P24 came back negative. This was approx 3 months after exposure in the last weekend of March 07. Two weeks previous (9-10 weeks post exposure) my PCR and HIV
in two months to confirm. I know Teak the P24 is in direct conflict to the window in which you say it is accurate. The research I have done and articles I have read also say the same, but she is an Infectious
Disease Doctor, so I have to go with her on this one. Do I feel more relieved? Maybe a bit.... but I am also concerned in which the order of the tests were taken. I am going to see her tomorrow for a check up..... I think maybe I should have another HIV
I am still concerned about my CD4 and CD 8 counts. She suggested I wait it out for another two months to see if they bounce back, but her opinion is that those are caused by the EBV. This all makes some some sense.... low CD4 and CD8's... negative antibody and a negative PCR <50 copies. I do not think less than 50 copies can destroy your CD's in such a manner.... Dr. Stupid any comment??
What ever became of this? He would have definitely of been positive by now, has anyone heard? I have the same problem. Neg HIV test up to 12 weeks and a positive reaction to EBV (but a neg mono spot). I read that HIV will reactivate EBV before and after servoconverion and that is what scares me. How did Mik's results turn out? I am going in for my 13 week test today.
