Yes Mike,
The reports via mail get delayed. I actually collected my reports from the lab itself. but the other MedHelp buddy who is from Gujarat got them mailed to him.
The guy had come down from gujarat, we met and went for our tests together at Worli on saturday.
They had said that the reports would be mailed to him on monday, but actually he received the mail on tuesday. (he has fwd the reports to me also ...ALL NEGATIVE :-)
Mike, do you really really have to go to worli ?.. worli is quite far from your place. could you not wait a while ..
you have given ur blood sample at the satellite collecteion center, and worli is the main HO of the lab. will they give the report to you over there? have you confirmed with them over phone? you dont want to travel all the way to worli and then be told to collect the report from the collection/satellite centre!
also, do you know the way to the worli lab?.. you said that you havent been to that part of town. I will be going to worli lab tomorrow, if you could wait a day more, you could come with me.. BTW - my resi is not far off from ur place..

Ex: What Dr. HHH says is not to encourage people to go for unprotected sex but to share his experience over the last 20 yrs of seeing patients and that's more of an odds analysis for some one who's real freaked out to calm his / her nerves however that doesn't mean one should go ahead and get in to risky business.
BTW: That piece of information is more applicable in the US and UK not Asia because here in Asia, the heterosexual transmission is the highest cause of HIV infection, I'm not really sure why but I'm trying to get that information from the doctor most probably I'll get that straight by this Saturday but any ways what I've read so far is the sub type 'C' (commonly found in India) is more transmitted through Heterosexual methods

Result : UNDETECTABLE !
Trust me, this is one day, i'll never like to recall ever in the future, so much of drama, anxiety and suspense.
I drove the way I've never driven ever before in the Mumbai city traffic, I've cried, I've laughed had the best walk by the beach all by myself for the first time in life, I'm glad that those painful traumatic hours have ended for me !
Can you believe a lab like metropolis goofing it up so big time, they missed my blood sample and they did not test it until today morning and to save their own ass they kept saying 'reports are ready but we can't reveal it over the phone nor can we send you a soft copy of the same' !
I went there and spoke to the lab incharge about it and he was humble enough to admit their mistake and they ran a test exclusively for me today (only done on TUE & FRI), I have the report in my hand and I can understand two things :

It is true CSW are riskey. Even if people use condoms it is not safe.Things like you had can happen. You had nessesary education about HIV so you manneged to do escape from it safely. But for common people it may lead to disaster.
Even for you it gave some sleepless days
So i think (my advise to all)

have you realised, we have all made history here. in the future, new wws will come and read past posts, and will be encouraged. and will understand that testing at the right time is crucial and leave here with a better understanding of safer sex. i was helped by many like xhost, dumbguy12,teak without even participating in this forum. i would only read for about 4.5 mos prior.

A: P24 at the 11th day is encouraging but would not provide a great magnitude of accuracy since it's a best test at the 28th day coupled with a standard antibody.
But thats for some one with risk, you don't have to worry about it cuz you never had a 'REAL' risk, believe me :)
I wouldn't suggest you to go for any further testing.

How would "being educated about HIV" help us escape..the HIV virus does not check if the person has any knowledge about HIV before infecting ...lol

We then start checking ourselves for any ARS symptoms and then start jumping around with fear in case we catch a simple flu!!
Now consider the case if we had not searched the internet...we did not know abt the virus... what would we be doing?

A while ago, I posted a question to Dr. HHH. A friend of mine was driving me crazy about a "possible exposure". I posted it as if the question was mine. It was a dumb question, but she wouldn't believe me until I showed her Dr.HHH's answer.
