My stupidity landed me here =/
I'm already aware of the risk in unprotected sex..just too stupid to do it at the rime :( it's been 3 weeks now. I think my anxiety has taken a toll on me. I'm already an anxious individual irl. I pretty much make everything out 2 be bigger than what it is. However the possibility of HIV/aids is certainly no joke nor is it a wise choice unless you are aware of the person(s) status beforehand. I went out one evening and had sex with a male (I am Female) it was straight vaginal/penile penetration. I had asked what his status was as I wasn't all that familiar with him he stated he was tested & swore had nothing. Even stated (afterwards) he was involved with a lady for four years. Anyways I just 'took' his word. Dumb. He seemed quite nice/healthy/caring/truthful when he spoke of everything about life in general. I'm aware none if this dismisses the fact he may or may not be HIV + Anyways I took Plan B within 4 hours after. Everything went fine the days that followed. Anxiety hadn't set in quite yet. I got my period exactly 2 weeks after Plan B. A few days before that I was anxious thinking what if. I started getting a headache that came & went (mind you I already suffer from them especially due to stress) My arm started hurting one day up 2 my shoulder causing it to hurt for a few hours. My neck the next started hurting. I was certain I had a mild fever but was told I didn't. I haven't been fatigued or throwing up or no diarrhea nor did I get a rash (knock on wood) I have 1 canker sore on my lip but was caused from my accidentally biting while chewing food. My tongue has been normal. None of my symptoms have been like 'together' if you will. At one point I remember being so stressed I got pins & needles feelings about 10 days after "possible exposure" was cold/numb feeling in my thighs & forearms & back arms that I could really feel if I thought about it. It passed. Today I'm 3 week mark & still a wreck. I have energy with headaches on/off keeping myself full of water to help the headaches. I noticed on my neck it's a bit sensitive. Keep in mind I have checked daily for signs of swollen lymphs. I can't see swollen lumps but just looking but if I tilt my head back & look beside the mid parts of my neck (throat..Larynx) below my chin but on each side of the 'larynx' there are 2 little sized tender lumps. I at this time have a sore arm on/off not constant pain & just started up again the last hour. I would appreciate any help to ease any part of my mind. I went 2 the doctors yesterday to help with my anxiety & gotten anxiety dissolvable tablets under my tongue. She stated that the pins & needles were sue to anxiousness as well as my on/off headache & shoulder/arm pain. She gave me lab papers 2 check but I haven't yet as I'm a chicken :( None if my symptoms have really been together or long-lasting at a time. She tried to assure me that the chance of infection w/heterosexual unprotected sex was unlikely but possible. I'm not a sexual person at all. I have been with 3 guys in a period of thirteen years. Honestly. I know the risk I subjected myself to & am paying for it with this non-stop worrying. My biggest question is probably already been asked so I apologize as I am new here & just joined right before I wrote this. Before I ask my question I would like to say thank you for providing a place such as this to help others. I'm thankful for any help provided. Please do not point out the obviousness of my stupidity as I'm surely going to beat myself up over it for a longtime no matter what my results are going to be. I can guarantee it will never happen again as I can't handle this kinda stress. This last 3 weeks has honestly been the longest I've ever had. I'd give anything to go back and change it but since I can't all I have is prayers. *Question* does symptoms happen all at the same time or one after the other like mine. Such as headaches/arm pain/possible swollen lymph on neck which is not visible unless I look hard with head back..tender tho' probably from pricking. Anyways does symptoms like rash/fever/headache/bodyache/swollen lymphs/sore throat happen all the exact same time not come & go? This is if any HIV acute symptoms show at all as I'm aware there may be none. Would I get sore arm say yesterday & today without a sore arm anymore get headache & that passes get possible lymph nodes tomorrow? If I had a fever it was super low with no other symptom. I remember thinking I may have had one but was told I didn't. May e my anxiety is making me have false symptoms? Ahh..:( Thank you so much for your time & I apologize for any inconvenience. XOXOX.
ars symptoms...if someone experiences them...come at 2-4 weeks post infection and last for 1-2 weeks. these symptoms come on at once.
a test at 6-8 weeks post exposure will give you a very good indication of your status. follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.
