NAT test

Does anybody know if NAT test detect HIV from RNA only (converting it to DNA) or is it also able to detect viral DNA when virus genome is integrated into cell's DNA?

OK, Teak, I am sorry to cause any inconvinience, it wasn't my intention to do it. All I asked was if anybody knows if NAT PCR test is based on RNA or DNA as a template, the information I have found so far in the net have been somewhat contradictive. If this is concidered as improper "excessive posting" linked to my previous post where I described my encounter, then I apologize.

Regards,

Yes, Teak, I received a reply from you as well from other people and I am grateful for that. But there was this unfortunate contact with my penis and her labia as I explained.. anyway, this question is more of general interest, whether NAT PCR test can identify integrated viral DNA or is this below detection threshold, so it only detects RNA from viral particles.

When did you ever have a risk? You were already advised that you didn't have a risk from oral sex.
