Negative Results at 40 days -- More testing neeed?
Back at the beginning of December, I took the labcorp standard anti-body test and DNA PCR test exactly 40 days post exposure. Both tests were negative. My exposure was a one time episode of unprotected vaginal
negative or do I need further testing? The DNA PCR test (found here at http://www.areuatrisk.com) says accurate after 28 days on the web. I took both tests because Labcorp (the company doing the testing) said if I did both of these at 40 days and both were negative I would NOT need further testing.
I just want to move with this situation - I'm going to be buying my first home very soon and would like to be at least somewhat worry free. Also, I had some Pressure
You don't need another test. The chances of having HIV were miniscule to begin with and at 40 days, I am not sure of the exact numbers, but the test would be over 95% accurate for sure. Your chances of having HIV are 1 in millions, probably higher than that.
