Negative p24 Antigen at 25 days. getitright77 what does this mean

So I had a small risk 4 1/2 weeks ago now. (32 days today). I have been freaking out each and everyday since then.  So finally, last week, equipped with what I surely thought were ARS symptoms: rash, lymph nodes, geographic tongue, flu, swollen glands, etc. etc. I went to the doctor last week and told him how scared I was.

He gave me the p24 antigen blood test and assured me that I had nothing to worry about and he would call me with the good news in a day or two. So he called me like he said he would and said that I was NEGATIVE!!

I've read that at 4 weeks it is 90-95% accurate, and even 99%.

However, here is my main concern............I didn't have the test at 4 WEEKS! It was 3 days away from 4 weeks, roughly 25 days! And I still have swollen lymph nodes and a very sore throat! Also, developed a white thing on my uvula today... very scared.

So, I know that 3 months is the 100% way to go, and I plan on getting tested at exactly 3 months to finally put this to rest. However, until then, can I put some confidence in the almost 4 week test?

Getitright77? What do you think? It wasn't 4 weeks. And now I have this white spot on my uvula, that thing that hangs from the back of the mouth and extremely sore throat.

The doctors in our expert doctors forum will tell you that your result is excellent and highly unlikely to change. For a 100% conclusive result though, you must test at 12 weeks.Expect another negative result.

I understand that, that an early negative on the p24 antigen is a great sign. Especially at 4 weeks.....However, mine wasn't exactly 4 weeks. It was 3 1/2 weeks, so I'm very worried about that

Same thing, makes no difference, that,s when the p24 is at it,s peak.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!! I'm 99% there then!

I will test at 3 months just to be 100%, do you think this is the right thing to do!?

Also, why is at 99% at 4 weeks then? and Something like 50% at 3 weeks!? That terrifies me

3 days from 4 weeks is 99% accurate for a p24 antigen test.Stop worrying and test again at 12 weeks and you will be fine.

Thank You so much. I will take that to the bank. My Doctor didn't seem worried at all either.  He said the odds in the 1st place were vastly low....coupled with a 99% result on odds that were already in the low 1-2%, puts me in a pretty nice place.

But really...why did I read that 3 weeks wasn't as accurate for the p24 when it seems that it would be more accurate sooner on the p24? That worried me.

and despite my symptoms....you still think 99% at 3 1/2 weeks....and despite it not being exactly 4 weeks?!

Move along, you've been told several times when to obtain a conclusive test result.

I understand. It is just, knowing what I now know. Added with my small risk and my NEGATIVE p24 at 3 1/2 weeks, equals a nearly conclusive answer.

Although I know the rules, 3 months = conclusive.

I currently have a gf, and I'm trying to be responsible and do the right thing. And while I'm pretty sure I'm okay, almost certain, despite all of my ARS symptoms, I'm still using a condom with her until I know 100%. While I think I could and would be fine and not putting her at risk by not using one, I will continue this method.

I just want more answer about p24...but I understand if you don't want to give them
