Nervous and Worried

I am an 18 year old gay male.I met a guy and we had starting talking for hours, well one thing led to another and we ended up messing around in his car.  He wanted to have sex but i declined , so we had oral, i was the giver and he was the reciever.  He did ejaculate in my mouth but i immediatlety spit it out as soon as it was in, i tried to make sure that i diddint swallow anything at all, but even if i did it was a very microscpopic amount, i diddint have any cuts or sores or anything in my mouth that night.  He did say that he is clean but you can never be to sure.  Ive never had semen in my mouth before, so iam kinda worried about it.  I havent experienced any type of symptoms or anything and this was over a week ago.  Do i have a high risk of contracting hiv if i spit out all the semen if he was infected? Please get back to me asap.   thank you.

if you are going to tell someone to test...at least tell them the "correct" time to receive a conclusive result.  3 months is conclusive...not 8 wks.

mattie...if testing will ease your mind...then by all means test at 3 months.

Try to relax. The risk of you contracting HIV via oral sex is very low. However the risk of potentially contracting standard STDs can be very high. A lot will depend on if your partner is very sexually active. More partners usually equates to more risk of them being positive.

There is some debate on this board about the possibility of transmitting HIV through performing oral sex. Some will tell you no, there is no risk, others will tell you that there is a very minor risk involved. If you are a healthy individual, with no dental problems, its likely you'll have nothing to worry about. However, its up to you and what you define is acceptable risk. If you find yourself overly worried or anxious, it would not hurt to test to help ease your mind.

For myself, exposure to semen to mucus membranes is enough to justify a test. But I tend to error on the side of caution. That is my position on oral sex and that may not be what others agree with.

If you find yourself worried, get tested 3 months after exposure.
