I just found this website and was hoping for some supportSupport Support 500. I had an unprotected exposure about 14 months ago and was tested 2 months after and then again 4 months after through the ELISAElisa Elisa/western blot tests for hiv Lyme disease antibody test. Both came back negative. I was tested just about a year ago so was that considered the 3rd generation test or did they just come out with it a few months ago? I want to make sure I am considered conclusive.
The reason I am still worried is because I have had a chronic sore throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture that comes and goes (sometimes around stressful times) and its only on my left side of my throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture where my tonsil is slightly bigger than the other tonsil. Should I worry that this can be related to HIV or does it sound like it can be? Thank you for all that help me.
Thank you so much for your quick response. I am not sure if you answer so many people on here because you are a doctor, but what does my throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture problem sound like?...if you can offer any help. thank you.
I just read your profile. I am very sorry about your unfortunate diagnosis with AIDSAids Aids - resources Early symptomatic hiv infection. did you ever have a problem with your throat like I explained that I do? Thank you for your help in this forum
I am sorry if I sound irrational. I am just scared because I am only a 21 year old female and do not want to have to deal with this when i am trying to finish college. But, thank you for your support.
A negative test four months after your exposure means you don't have HIV infection - a negative test at 12 weeks after exposure is considered to be conclusive, so your test was after this period. Don't got by your symptoms - your test result was negative. A sore throat is just a sore throat - your don't HIV, so it can't be related.
lets just say I DID have HIV from my exposure....would I still be having symptoms over a year after the exposure? Thats my last question
