Oral Care...What's the Real Risk?

I have read the previous postings treading cautiously due to the waiver about types of questions that will be answered, particularly of the oral nature.  My question relates to transmission risks related to oral care (I have not seen much in the way of discussion in the forum).

I performed and received oral sex,3 weeks ago yesterday, along with deep kissing but no ejaculation. I would not normally be concerened.  However, I had a dental cleaning about 5 days prior and I also suffer from bruxism (violently grinding at night) and wear a nightguard but sometimes get non-bloody, marks parallel to my bite line on the inside of my cheeks. I also tend to subconsciously bite the inside of my lower lip, again without any blood throughout the course of the day.

What kind of conditions related to oral care must be present to facilitate tranmission? Are we talking open sores or are minor abrasions or residual cleaning effects (at 5 days) as I have presented also a factor? Is a RNA test something that would work at this timeframe or is it even warranted? I have not felt well since the encounter, general body aches, no temperature, throat is bothersome but not really sore. I am concerned but from previous postings realize that ARS happen all at once but nontheless am still concerned.  I did see my doctor after the incident as I thought I might have gotten an STI (gonorrhea) which was treated (no test taken) with Azythromycian/and Cipro.  The partner did tell me he was negative as of his last test. I am hopefully just worrying for nothing but thought I would seek you opinion.

Sorry, there simply are no data to answer your question, but common sense tells you the risk is negligible.  Normal people have sores and inflammation in their mouth all the time--biting a lip, inflamed/bleeding gums, etc.  If there are no known cases of oral HIV acquisition, then such bleeding events like you describe cannot make much of a difference.

Indeed it seems you are worrying for nothing.
