Hi, I recently had an oral exposure whereby I performed fellatio on a guy of unknown status for about 4 minutes or less. He did not ejaculate in my mouth. My assumption is there was precum, but mixed with the saliva I am uncertain of this. About 4 days later, I had a mildly sore throat
to check cell counts and types, and both were negative. He gave me an antibiotic, which appears to be helping...it's only been 2.5 days of a 7-day dose. My throat was never super sore, I didnt have a fever. I was just rather tired with mild throat discomfort.
Anyway, I am worried this could be an HIV incident as I have been told white spots on tonsils can be linked to HIV. I have had 3-4 past incidents of oral with men (several of which I know, so I can't call them "strangers" although I've never asked status), but none ejaculated in my mouth.
I am worried that if this isn't from the recent exposure, could it be HIV from a prior oral exposure? I can't see any other STD that really manifests this way on the tonsils....
I have never had anal or vaginal intercourse. Other than rimming, the oral is my riskiest HIV exposure and greatest worry.
Do you think I need to direct a question to the doctors in this case?
Is it necessary to see a doctor over this event or to test for HIV over the 4 incidents of oral without ejaculation? It is almost certain precum came in contact with my mouth. I mean...anyone can have a slight tear in mouth tissue, yes? Would this explain the spots?
My doctor thinks it is strep or some random bacteria, but I am worried about risks and oral. I never thought to suck on latex...most people I know don't and it seems for HIV protection most people just use for intercourse, which I have not had.
