Oral Sex Risk

Oral Sex Risk

i know i have asked this before but please understand i am trying to gauge my risk exposure as after 4 weeks of oral sex exposure with a female of unknown HIV status, i am having all kinds of sysmptoms that could be attributed to ARS.

the following quote is taken from CDC site:

"Like all sexual activity, oral sex carries some risk of HIV transmission when one partner is known to be infected with HIV, when either partner’s HIV status is not known, and/or when one partner is not monogamous or injects drugs. Even though the risk of transmitting HIV through oral sex is much lower than that of anal or vaginal sex, numerous studies have demonstrated that oral sex can result in the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Abstaining from oral, anal, and vaginal sex altogether or having sex only with a mutually monogamous, uninfected partner are the only ways that individuals can be completely protected from the sexual transmission of HIV. However, by using condoms or other barriers between the mouth and genitals, individuals can reduce their risk of contracting HIV or another STD through oral sex. "

So CDC clearly states that there is real HIV risk associated to oral sex whereas this forum maintains that there is NO RISK whatsoever. could someone please explain to me what is your basis for such a confident statement? a lot of people come here to get comfort (i being one of them) and i just want to be sure of what i am being told.

In June 2002, a study conducted amongst 135 HIV negative Spanish heterosexuals, who were in a sexual relationship with a person who was HIV positive, reported that over 19,000 instances of unprotected oral sex had not led to any cases of HIV transmission.3 The study also looked at contributing factors that could affect the potential transmission of HIV through oral sex.
