in a uk massage parlour for the first time and which is totally out of character for me. As a result I got carried away and performed cunnilingus on her for a while. This started off on the clitoris and from what I remember I only went 'down' to her vagina once. Sex
- if the lady has it herself that is? If it was so easy to catch this way, wouldnt more and more people be affected? Is an ulcer an 'open sore' ? it doesnt bleed?
Please help me. This is one silly mistake that may cost me everything.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Sunny, Thank you for your comment, but how can you be so sure.
I have spent 4 days crying alone with no one to turn to, I thought ulcers mean an opening to the bloodstream?
Can anyone please tell me what the deal is with ulcers (canker sores) and HIV. In particular - cunnilingus as a mode of transfer? Why are websites saying that there is a 'greater risk' if you have mouth sores?
Thank you for your response, just to clarify, I mean canker sores in the context of an opening for the virus to enter the bloodstream, not as a symptom. I had a canker sore whilst performing the act. Many websites in the UK describe these irritating sores amongst other oral problems as 'increasing risk of infection'
Please forgive me if i am being persistent - I am an aero engineer and naturally have a bad tendancy to 'read' into too much detail.
Well its just under 3 months now and I am going for my test next week to iron this out. I am searching for courage, as to be honest I am still scared. Many sources of info on the web - some re-assuring, some scary - what to believe?
I don't think I would be this worried if I didnt have the canker sore in my mouth at the time of performing oral on the CSW.
Im married now and things have been so good over the summer.
What are my chances of hearing the worst this week? how many ppl worldwide engage in oral sex, after heavy brushing, having sores, micro cuts in their mouth. I mean come on why draw the line at 'micro?' do 'nano' cuts also provide a route in for the virus?
Tim let me know how it goes. I did a similar stupid thing and had a bunch of small cuts in my cheeck from a bad habit of chewing my inner cheeks. I envy you being at 3 months as I just did this and am terrified. There is way too much conflicting info out there. Good luck.
Could someone please give their opinion/support...please?

I have waited 3 months in fear. my initial postings were in July 08. I am having my test this week. I am nervous as I will get my answer but in the mean time I am looking for opinions on what my chances are. The subject of oral sex/canker sores is confusing.
Honestly, you particularly shouldn't be worried at all.
There has never been a documented case of anyone getting HIV from cunnilingus.
EVER.
There is risk if it were receptive oral, from a male.
aka **.
but from what i understand the risks from that are very tiny also.
About 1/10,000. and that is WITH ejaculation in the mouth with cuts, sores, bleeding gums etc.
atleast, thats what the Docs. on here say.
They've also said that though, it is possible. They themselves have never seen
a case from getting HIV through just oral sex.
You can still get tested but, expect a negative result.
Your test will be negative without a shadow of a doubt. Even IF small cuts or compromised skin areas were present at the time of oral sex (this goes for M OR F)...there would never be enough infectious fluid present to cause a risk.....also you have the saliva and mouth, which create a hostile environment....plus the virus being exposed to air.
HIV basically needs a set of PERFECT circumstances to allow for transmission. Oral sex does not fit into that category. Only vaginal/anal sex where the membranes are very vascular, and the "inside" factor.....inside the vagina or anus...where HIV would have more optimal conditions without being exposed to air.
Even with that...there is no "guarantee" for infection. Even with unprotected sex, viral load, among other factors....all play into the chances of transmitting the virus. Even people who have had a very high risk don't always end up infected. HIV is a sissy virus in terms of transmission. Of course, that doesn't mean not to practice safe sex, but hopefully it puts into perspective that your situation did not put you at risk at all.
You have nothing to be concerned about...your test will be neg, and when you get the results...believe them, accept them, and move on. Hopefully, you have learned a little about HIV and what is/isn't risky.
Thank you very much for your informative response. I hope you are right and yes I feel like I learnt something. I am technical (Engineer by trade) and prefer to hear scientific fact, so reading your posts is comforting.
