Theoratically it is very low risk, but don't worry about it.
Thank you! I have been reading
www.medhelp.org and www.webmd.com for the past week. I'm finally coming around my anxiety.
Can anyone explain a worst case scernio to acquire HIV orally?
That is if u take *** in ur mouth, I might not be 100% right since I am not doctor. But it is very low risk activity without ejacuation.
I'm not a homosexual. I don't think the woman I performed oral sex on ejaculated. If so I don't think it came out her vagina.
Your risk of having contracted HIV from performing oral sex on a woman is miniscule, infintesimal, virtually non-existent. I know from whence I speak, because I too thought, at one time, that I might be at risk from the same thing.
You ask about worst case scenario. OK, I'll give you one. I met a woman in a bar one night, and we got totally blitzed, falling down drunk. She invited me home, and I went with her. The night is a complete blur, but I do remember spending what seemed like hours performing oral sex on her. Woke up the next day, there was blood everywhere - on my mouth, my pillow, my t-shirt. You name it, it had blood on it. I was so drunk, as was she, neither of us realized that she had started her period the night before. Oh my.
The sight of all the blood, coupled with the fact that I had abrasions on my tongue from an earlier incident, made me stop and think. When it comes to a man giving oral sex to a woman, I figured I had about the worst possible "exposure" a man could have. Blood, traumau to my oral tissue, a woman of unknown status. I freaked. Like you, I asked the woman I was with about her HIV/STD status, and she wasn't with me at all. She basically told me to get the hell out of her house. OK, I can understand why, just wasn't the reaction I had expected, or desired.
Long story a little shorter, I came here, and a couple of other places, outlined my risks to the good doctor, and asked him if I should start planning on the HIV medication now or wait until later. His reaction surprised me, though I understand it now: he told me I didn't even need an HIV test. As I said, I was a little surprised by that, but only because, at the time, I didn't really understand:
--How difficult it is to acquire HIV, and
--The realistic mechanisms by which one acquires HIV
Now, I didn't fully accept what the doctor was telling me at the time, but, once I had calmed down and done some more reading, I came to the realization that, even with all the blood, I didn't have much chance of having caught anything, let alone HIV.
Nor did you. Make sense?
It makes sense to the point that it doesn't make sense. I want to thank you for sharing your story! I bet you were extremely scared at the site of all that blood...DAMN!! I probably would have sh*tted in my pants.
And yes the doctor do seem a bit too easy about all of this. IO had to check his profile at least 7 times just to make sure he wasn't an 12 year old boy with too much time on his hands. But his creditials check out and he knows exactly what he is talking about.
