YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR CONCERNS IN YOUR OWN POST. YOU ARE DOING NOTHING BUT ADDING TO PPL'S ANXIETIES.
JUST BECAUSE "YOU" CANT ACCEPT THE FACTS REGARDING TRANSMISSION DOESNT MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO SHARE THAT INABILITY WITH OTHERS.
MOVE ON...
if you had read any of the forum...you would have seen it repeated over and over again.
the mouth has over a dozen proteins and enzymes that render hiv inactive and unable to infect.

if there is no difference in one expert's "no risk" to another's "low risk"...then why not just say NO RISK...PERIOD....why even bother with the "LOW RISK" response....i still havent gotten a response as to why you cant contract HIV via oral sex...i figure to more you ask the more you know...I JUST WANT TO BE EDUCATED!!!
edog...you left off the last sentence.
There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".

@ edog in saying that...once you have received your results...will you believe them...do you trust the window period or no?

so low an alsmost isn't zero
i'm sorry we just dissagre
2 say 100% it never happens is so unbeliveable
I didn't mean to be a bother...I am just curious...I want to know all that I can know....that is all!!! I apologize
YOU HAVE BEEN ASSESSED AS NOT BEING AT RISK FOR CONTRACTING HIV.
KINDLY MOVE ON...WE'RE NOT HERE TO TALK ABOUT LAB ERRORS. YOU NEVER HAD A RISK ! ! !

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD
"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK
in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
okay....good to know....lets say they made a "RARE" error with my blood sample....would it have been caught and taken care of??? or would they have not caught it and i could be in a whole lot of dog poop???!
At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV.
this is what i received from the expert forum a little different from the no risk response.
There is virtually no risk of HIV form the exposure you describe. The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex. Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex. You are not going to be the first
hope this helps.
anything is "possible"...it's possible that you'll get hit by lightning at 8:13 p.m. on april 17th, 2011.
lab specimens are labeled and machines do most of the work. errors are RARE
okay....kumar says no and edog says yes....which one is it....and why doesn't oral sex transmit hiv???
Of course it is possible but not going to happen twice at 3 months and 6 months that would be 1 in million
but is it possible at all....EVER!!! that the lab could confuse blood samples....or mix them up...or anything of the sort....I am just curious at this point??!!!
Good Stuff!!! Thank You Lizzie Lou....Cute name by the way!!!
would not have matter if the lab did "mess up" the test (which they didnt)...oral sex is not a risk for hiv.
even so...for someone who had a risk...3 months post exposure would be reliable and conclusive.
