Oral sex (last day of menstruation)

Oral sex (last day of menstruation)

Hello!

I have a question that I know has already been answered before, but I still would like a specific answer. I'm from Brazil. Sorry for my poor English.

I had sex with a friend I know who always uses condoms. She wondered where condoms were (I had none, because I did not think we would have sex), and had to to buy them out.

Sex itself was protected, no problem about that. Prior to the penetration, however, I did oral sex for a few minutes, concentrating more in the outer area (clitoris, etc.).

During intercourse, I saw a brown stain on the bed and asked if she was menstruating. She said that menstruation had stopped the day before, and probably the intercourse made some residual blood appears.

What is my risk if there was some blood in outer area of her vagina before intercourse? I did not feel the taste of blood at all, but can't say with absolute certainty that there was no sign of blood during oral sex.

I know that she always uses condoms during sex. But I think she has never done an HIV test. And I did not have any kind of cut or sore in the mouth.

Welcome to the Forum. to the best of our knowledge, which is quite good since it is based on years of observations and many studies of HIV transmission, there is no risk of getting HIV from performance of oral sex.  That is true even if the person is menstruating as you describe because the virus does not penetrate the oral lining and is inactivated by components of saliva and stomach secretions.  Thus even if your partner has HIV, which sounds very unlikely from your description of her, there was no risk from your performance of unprotected oral sex on her. there is no need for concern and no need for testing related to the encounter you describe.  EWH

Thanks, doc!

One last point. I fingered her a little after oral sex, but can not remember if it was before or after putting the condom. And during penetration, I was holding the condom at the base to prevent it from slipping. Assuming that there was some "invisible" blood on my hand and I touched the base of my penis (the part that was not covered by the condom) when I was holding the condom at the base, I assume that your answer remains the same - that is, there is no risk ?

And MAYBE putting the condom with the same hand with some possible "invisible" blood in it also does not change your opinion?

If it is possible to have lower risk than no risk, the actions regarding your masturbation or her and possible transfer of her secretions on your hand fall into that category.  No change in my assessment of risk.  EWH
