Oral sex

Why do people on this forum say there is no risk in oral sex? when studies have shown there to be a very low but still present risk.

Wrong. Saliva has over a dozen proteins and enzymes that inhibit HIV transmission. There is no way you could get oral sex with someone that has a mouth full of blood.

Hi Teak,  I have been reading the posts and your credentials are impressive. True enough that saliva is an inhospitable environment for HIV virus. However, consider that semen and blood could be in the mouth from providing oral sex. While saliva is a poorr transmitter of HIV the semen and blood in the saliva are quite effective carriers of HIV. If the blood and saliva are in the mouth for a period of time I suspect the antibodies and substances would kill the virus. But, if the blood and semen are there just for a short time the virus would not be inactivated immediately.  Just a thought.

there has not been suficient documentation reg oral sex, also the saliva produces enzimes that kills the virus, further the chances of high viral load in the saliva is slim. Probably if the infected sucker has plenty of blood in the mouth and the dic has std sores then probably the chances do exist for the t cells to be attacked.
