Oral sex

I am a gay man and my boyfriend is HIV+
3 months ago we both had a HIV test and I was negative. Since then we have engaged in safe sex. However as part of foreplay I perform oral sex on him and virsa versa. Am i in any risk of contracting the virus if I give him oral sex?

Hey,

I'm pretty sure from reading up on this stuff that you probably won't get HIV from oral, however, since it has not been proven impossibly, I'd take every precaution, especially knowing that your partner is HIV +.

Take care.

There has been numerous studies done with serodiscordant couples. All used condoms for vaginal and anal sex and none for oral and NOT ONE of the negative persons have ever contract HIV.

Jazzyle if you look in the doctors forum it states that oral sex is a low risk activity. It also states that if your partner is HIV+ there is a 1 in 10,000 risk that you could become infected via oral sex. I guess the studies are from various people some with gum disease etc. and still the risk is estimated at 1 in 10,000. Personally I still wouldn't take this risk if I knew 100% that my partner was HIV+; so protection during oral sex would be my recommendation. Hope this helps.
