If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
I had a "high risk" exposure(saving you the unsavory details) on apr 5 and went to a clinic on aug 5, the nurse swabbed my upper and lower gums in less than a minute collecting oral fluid. 20 mins later the test comes back negative. How accurate is this reading? And should I move on?
are testing after possible exposure the same as testing after possible infection? To clerify, ive read that at three months using oraquick at any risk will give a conclusive result even if i were to test to 6 months, the results will be solid, is this true? Please help me clerify my situation anyone. Thanks
