PEP AND HOW IT WORKS

I had sex with a commercial sex worker 25 days ago when a condom broke. I stopped immediately and went to a nearby clinic for PEP. I was confirmed negative at that stage. I took lamivuvine and zidovudine with me as a dose for 28 days.
After 4 days, I had a very severe skin itch which I thought was due to drug allergy. It however subsided for the next two weeks. I have just taken a test thats come negative. However, I got some flu, a mouth rash, a tonsil swell and I am worried that I have got HIV.
Are these sign expected and then PEP work on them or if PEP is effective, they are not expected to occur?.

To obtain a conclusive negative result after PEP, you test 3 months after your last dose of PEP.
