PEP Medication Question...

I've read material that says the a 4-week course of PEP is highly potent and may be dangerous to your body. And that it should only be taken by those that had a real high risk. Well my qeustion is, if it is the same medication that HIV+ people take a regular basis for years and years, than why is it so dangerous for someone to take it for 4 weeks?

The easiest way for me to tell you is to take it for 28 days and you'll get a sample of what we live with day in and day out. Most people that are given PEP can't even make it through their first week of meds let alone 28 days.

Teak that wasn't my point. I know the medication is wicked. I was just wondering why its so "bad" for you if you do not have HIV (or haven't engaged in a high risk)

The medicine is a poison. HAART meds fall into the same class as some Chemo meds. Side effects of some HAART meds are horrible. Just look up some of the HAART meds and look at their side effects, then you won't wonder no more.
