PEP Question - Urgent!!

PEP Question - Urgent!!

In my recent post I described me exposure.

Anyway, 2 hours ago I manged to get PEP from a local hospital. It consists of two pill COMBIVIR and one pill Stocrin (Efavirenz) daily.

I already took the first pill of Combivir.

My problem is the following: The doctor told me to wait until 8pm ("bed time") to take the Stocrin pill as the side effects may be very serious.

So far, so good. But at 8pm it will be already 63 hours after exposure. And as far as I read from various sources, you should start PEP as soon as possible after exposure.

I am aware of the fact that it is very important to follow the exact "rhythm" of taking the pills. Means every 12/24 hours and NOT sometimes after 20 hours, then 24 hours and so on....

Is there anyone knowledgeable here, who could tell me if it's really okay to wait until 8pm.

I would like to address to the doctors direclty. But here they only speak Chinese, and for the forum it needs a creitcard which I don't have.

Thanks for your help!!!

Do what the doctors direct, if you think something is wrong, go to them, not us.
Best of luck!
