PLease ASSESS MY RISK

Dear Doctor

Am a 33 year old male ..ircision done..Visited an asian coutry on 26/05/2010.
..the following encounter happened with CSW...
1) protected vaginal sex with condom with a CSW
2) Fingered another lady ( csw) on the same day but no sex
3) Protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex with a CSW on 28/05/2010...

No other exposure before or after and this is the first time in my entire life...( Mistake of life)

On 06/06/2010 mild fever noticed and took medicine ..the fever went off in two days

On 20/06/2010 i had second fever for two days with mild tiredness...the same time i noticed  mouth ulcers also for two weeks...

no other symptoms..no rashes nothing



am living with a family and kid..no sex with my wife from the date of exposure..pl advice fme...reeking out totally doctor.what is my status....

Welcome to the HIV Prevention Forum.  The exposures you describe put you at virtually no risk for HIV.  HIV is spread through sexual intercourse or injection of HIV contaminated materials.  It is not spread through kissing, masturbation (fingering) or condom protected sex. Thus, from what you report the only exposure that could have conceivably put you at risk is your receipt of unprotected oral sex. The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex.  Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex.

thus I would put you risk for HIV following the exposure you describe as being essentially zero.  Your symptoms are not due to HIV but something else, perhaps a community acquired viral infection of the sort most people get from time to time.

If you would like to test to convince yourself that you do not HIV HIV you can get a standard HIV antibody test.  It has now been nearly 8 weeks since your exposure than therefore any HIV infection that you would have acquired 8 weeks earlier would be detectable.  I am confident if you test your test results will be negative and personally I do not feel strongly that you need testing at all.

The oral sex( unprotected)  was purely receival and lasted only for 2 /3 minutes and i nevr tried licking her vagina or anything.....so kindly let me know ur comments ..thanks n regards

No change in my assessment.  Virtually no risk.   If you choose to do so, an HIV test at this time will prove this.  EWH

pl note i have these oral ulcers from 2 weeks and another 2 for another two weeks...is there anything to worry about these oral ulcers as am freaking about this...i had this may be aan year ago..but this i noticed now..pl help and comment

i hope u will have patience to answer my last question....
after a month episode of oral ulcers ie 2 each in 1.5 weeks ie total 6...now am feeling tiredness and head reeling from 3 days....
pl answer if u r kind enough...

Nothing more to say.  Get tested and prove that you do not have HIV.  Then work with your doctor to figure out why you are feeling poorly.  EWH

do you think, these symptoms will be some kind of seroconvertion symptoms of hiv.????....am really afraid..Hope you clarify with your great expertise  and help me...as i feel that i am the one who acquied infection with oral sex or condom sex...pl dont be upset with me as you may feel am not in my senses....this will be my final clarification....thanks for all the help
