Pain in Tecticle and Abdomen, Slight Itching

Pain in Tecticle and Abdomen, Slight Itching

The past couple of days I have had a dull to severe pain in my left testicle as well as pain in my abdomen and groin. 6 months ago I received unprotected oral sex and protected sex from an escort. As far as I could tell my condom did not break. I have not had any symptoms until this past week, except for my scrotum itching. When I look at it, no bumps appear and it seems to be just dry skin. I have had a little itching on my butt and legs as well, but nothing too bad.  Then this week I started to get the pain in my testicle and abdomen area. I am freaking out quite a bit since I am married, and I am concerned I could have HIV or something. Its a heck of a price to pay for a very poor decision. I have been stressing out about it quite a bit and I think the stress could be making it worse. I have visted web-site after web-site and read forum after forum. I have yet to be tested as the symptoms just recently popped up. I do have a lot of back problems and I need surgery for a degenerative disc. Could my symptoms be caused from pain in my back or should I be more concerned about having an STD or even something else.

Welcome to our Forum.  It is unlikely that your symptoms are related to your indiscretion of 6 months ago.  STDs are rarely transmitted by oral sex and HIV is virtually never transmitted in this way.  Your genital exposure was condom protected and thus was safe sex as well.

Testicular discomfort can be due to a problem called epididymitis but it rarely involves abdominal pain.  Even if epididymitis were an issue, it would not necessarily be due to STD.  On the other hand, disk disease can do this as can kidney stones and several other non-STD urological problems.  As you point out, anxiety could heighten this but would not typically account for all of your discomfort.  My advice is to have a doctor take a look at this.  He/she can do the appropriate tests and help you to sort things out.  I am confident however that this is not HIV-related and would also bet against it being due to an STD of any sort but do think it deserves evaluation.

Hope this is helpful.  Take care.  EWH

I guess I should have been a bit more clear. The pain is in the lower abdomen into the pelvic area, around the lymph nodes.

This does not change my advice.  Have someone take a look at it.  EWH

Went to the doc today. Urine came back good.sad white blood cell count was average. Also did ultrasound for abdomen pain and that came back ok. Said he s still waiting for some of the blood work and would call me tomorrow. Thought it's either an STD or a bacteria. Probaly won't sleep well tonight. Since the white blood cells came back normal, what should I be concerned about. I'm still freaking out about the possibility oh HIV!

At this point you need to work on this with your doctor and it does not do you any good for me to second guess is findings or plans.  He has had the chance to speak directly with you and to examine you, neither of which I can do over the internet. There is little chance that this is an STD.  HIV is not a consideration.  Take care.  EWH

Well the doctor called back and I had a high level of enzyms in my liver. I need to go back tommorrow morning for another ultrasound. I asked if he thought STD tests were necesarry at this point and he wants to see the reults of the ultrasound first. This would conquer with everything that you have said. I appreciate your help. I seem to have all the symptoms of liver disease. Abdominal pain, burning when I urinate, fatigue, irritability, depression and thin bowel movements and I have had a lot of these symptoms for weeks now minus the burning when I urinate. Thanks again for giving me a little piece of mind.

Had the ultrasound this morning and everything came back normal. I am now getting tested for STD's. This is what I was afraid of.

To add to that, I am having a lot more pain in the tip of my penis. It doesnt really hurt to urinate, but there is a constant paint. The testicle pain and lower abdomen pain is also still there. After 6 months since my possible exposure, could the pain at the tip of my penis be STD related, or more likely be due to urinary issues? From everything I have read, penis pain is not a symptom of HIV and Chlamydia and Gonorrhea often clear themselves after 6 months.

Well I took a urine test that was supposedly for chlamydia ang gonnorhea (Gonorrhea) and it came back +1 and rare. That's all he told me. He didn't say which was for what. He asked if it was initial urine or middle urine and it was initial. He said he would see me in a couple weeks for more blood pertaining to my liver enzymes. He seemed to think my colon was infled and pressing on my bladder causing the urge to urinate and burn. How should I interpret the results of my urine test? Does +1 mean I'm positive for something?

The presence of a few white blood cells in a urine specimen may be normal.  You should discuss the significance of the finding with your doctor.  It is time for this thread to end and for you to work with your doctor to address your concenrs.  EWH

Going back for my third round of bloodwork. The only abnormality was my ALT was at 100 and a small elevation of iron. I tested negative for hep, but I am not sure if I was tested for HIV. They told me over the phone I wasnt tested for any infections. I have searched all over the place and cannot find a clear answer. Does HIV alone cause an increase in ALT? Everything I find tells me people takling HIV medications have an increase in liver enzymes, but I cant find anything about liver enzymes being elevated due to HIV.

I go back in two days for more blood work. I was told no alcohol or Tylenol for two weeks. Im hoping the issue is related to diet/lifestyle rather than HIV...

This thread has gone on longer than is needed.  The minor elevation of ALT is not suggestive of HIV.  This will end this thread.  Take care and please do your best to move on from this.  EWH
