3 Weeks ago I developed a red rash with elephant skin texture with a pimple pus like manifestations. This happend a couple of days after I went to a massage parlor and had protected (condom
and she had herself checked. I t turned out that she had herpes.
I am very depressed and gulity now of what I have done. I have been reading several articles about Herpes. My question though is, having contracted Herpes from the masseuse 3 weeks ago, could I have also had contracted HIV
since most of the articles I have read said that the risk is higher to get HIV if you have Herpes? I really would like to take a test but is has just been 3 weeks and most of the sites I have researched said that the test should be between 3 to 6 months. I am not a promiscuous person and average 1 sexual massage a year. Are the chances of me contracting Herpes and HIV at the same time high?
Sorry to have offended you but I really am very concerned as this has been my first sexually related disease. I have made a mistake which put my relationship at risk and I am at loss and paranoid. When my girlfriend told me that I had given her a life long disease, I was heartbroken. I just want to cover all bases and assure her that HIV is out of the question. Since I have had sex with the masseuse and it was proven that she in fact gave me the STD, I just would be relieved to know if that is all I have indeed passed on to my GF of 12 years. I know that using a condom would greatly minimize the risk but the scenario I was thinking was, during the skin to skin contact you said when the Herpes was transmitted to me (probably because of open pores in the non-condom covered areas), could the HIV have passed the same way?
Again I am sorry if I have offended your intelligence.
I swear, if I have to read one more post from a protected sex with a sex worker worried about HIV I am going to throw my laptop at the wall.
I dont mean to judge because we have all done bad things, but maybe if you are worried about HIV and herpes you might want to re-think "average of 1 sexual massage a year."
Yes, you can get herpes even with a condom because there is still skin to skin contact.
HIV...PROTECTED SEX IS NO RISK. What do you think a condom is for????? Seriously.
thanks for your response. i do hope that HIV indeed was not passed. i will have myself tested but i think its too early for an accurate reading as most sites i researched mentioned between 3 to 6 months after suspected deed for an accurate one.
but thanks for the assurance. it has helped a lot.
HIV was not passed. Go get tested to rest your mind.
Research herpes online...condoms greatly help in reducing transmission of herpes virus but are not 100% effective due to exposed skin.
People can have herpes for YEARS and never have a symptom, some people NEVER have a symptom. Its quite possible your gf gave you herpes. who knows? 25% of the population has herpes.
I think you should stop seeking sexual massages especially if you have been with your girl for 12 years! Then you wont have to worry about HIV or herpes.
DR HHH says 6 weeks is enough time. The CDC says 3 months is conclusive. Dr HHH and 200 of his colleagues have NEVER seen a case where a person's negative 6 week test turned positive afterwards.
What week is this for you? If its week 6 and beyond, just go get tested.
Hi ,
Yes condoms can protuct you from HIV. Dont relay on symptoms .I personally feel that you dont even needed testing . But you can have one to calm your mind
S
3 months is the conclusive test result time not 6 weeks. If in fact you have HSV2, you did not contract it from the above situation to have signs come on that quick.
I know how you feel have same exposure. Yet the "willies" are getting to me again. Guilty feelings vs Facts about protected sex... I just might rant on it again
