Persisting Tingling Fingures!!

Persisting Tingling Fingures!!

Hi guys,

I had an exposure 6 weeks ago which are greatly regret!! I am waiting on to get tested at the 12 week mark but am really worried about the consistant tingling in my fingures i have been getting for the past 5 days!!

I thought that this may be due to anxiety as i havnt really had any other conditions.... But can you can you please tell me if this is a symtom of early onset hiv / ars????

i found the following information taken from a hiv website. Does this only affect you if you have later stages of hiv or could you get this with early stages aswell?? thanks

P

Pain in HIV+ people is often caused by the virus attacking the nerve endings in the arms and legs. This results in burning, numbness and tingling in the extremities (fingers and toes). This condition is called peripheral neuropathy or distal symmetrical polyneuropathy (DPSN) and can be so uncomfortable that patients are often reluctant to walk and perform the activities of daily living. Painful neuropathy can also be caused by some of the anti-HIV medications, especially Videx (ddI) and Zerit (d4T).

no! well i hope not..

Im asking whether persistant tingling in my finhures couls be a sign of early onset hiv? ARS?

The paragraph i read above concerned me. or is this solely for people that have a further stage of hiv?

hiv cannot be diagnosed through symptoms...only a test will do that.

yea i understand that and i definitly will get tested at 12 weeks.

I jus wanted to know if anybody knew whether or not persistant tingling in fingures is a possible symtom of early onset hiv / ars ?? or does the paragraph above describe later on hiv only?

i have the tingling fingures aswell!!  but also other symptoms to go with it... im hoping it is all down to anxiety with me tho and not ARS!!

The tingling fingures thing is a bit baffling tho, especially after reading that paragraph in your post..

its baffling me too!! from what lizzie says, this symptom if related to hiv only occures in later stage of the virus... and she seems quite knowledgable!

Teak do you have anything more to add from your previous post? with regards to the tingling..
