. i also asked her if she has had a hiv test done and she said yes and its negative. 4 days after my encounter i started to get diarrhea. i didnt have any nausea nor did i have any other symptoms. my friends were teasing me and told me i probably got hiv from her and thats when i started to panic
.
i went to see a doctor a week after and he told me that i had a less than 1% risk of contracting an hiv infection. i told him that i also performed oral sex on her and he said i probably got a stomach infection from that and he prescribed 250mg x4 azithromycin and 1x400mg of cefixime tablets in one dose. my diarrhea stopped 2 days later. but it returned after another week. so i went back and he told me to get a stool test. i also found a slightly painful nodes on my left thigh just below my groin. i dont know if this is a swollen lymph node. i am so worried that i have an hiv infection. sometimes i go blank and just think what will happen to me if i am infected. my main question is can someone have such symptoms without a fever or flu like symptoms?
I really appreciate it that uve taken the time to reply but i still want to know if diarrhea without any other symptoms could possibly mean hiv. and i also wanted to know could it could be possible that my diarrhea is prolonged cause my immune system is damaged by a possible hiv infection but without any other hiv symptoms. im am soo terrified. at times i dont even feel like eating cause of my fear. even doctors have told me about waiting 3 months but im still worrying about my symptom. i cannot even speak to a doctor here cause i cannot afford to pay for the subscription since my family has been greatly affected by the recession and i am unable to spend any money. i am going to get tested. i first want to do one at 6 weeks and then at 3 months. which test do u suggest will be suited at 6 weeks. also i live in canada and im not sure how they test here.
First of all, you need to calm down. Your immune system is not damaged due to early Hiv infection. It takes years for the virus to lower your immune system. And even that, it has to be full blown AIDS. Take an antibody and antigen test at 6 weeks, and that will be an indication of what your 3 months conclusive test will be. In the meantime, loose the anxiety and stay focused. Good luck!
