Please help, serious depression HIV and armpit nodes
Hi, someone please answer me I am on a ship and am seriously depressed. I have convinced myself I have HIV and I am scared to death.
I had sex with a chinese brand condom with a chinese prostitute. It did not break but I had a 'scab' or graze on my shaft caused by excessive masturbation. I'm not sure if this was covered by the condom.
3 weeks later I have a hard lump under my right armpit. It feels like hard muscle. About 3cm lump when I lift my arm up. Other than that i feel OK apart form I'm not sure if my inner thighs are aching. The armpit lump doesnt hurt which is HIV symptom?
I am going to get tested ASAP but please what do you think the chances are I caught HIV if she had it?

I received a negative HIV result after bang on 4 weeks. I know I must re-test after 12 wks - but how likely is it that it will change?
I know how you feel but you are SO LUCKY! you had protected sex for god's sake! Stop and think about that for a second mate - PROTECTED!
I guarantee you that you have already and will DRIVE YOURSELF MAD for NO REASON. I had all sorts of symptoms and was as sick as a dog and I can tell you that symptoms mean nothing. I did that for 3 months after UNPROTECTED sex and I would not wish it for you. You have no need to waste your life that way.

Sorry it's just hard when I have nothing else on my mind I'm sorry. It's just on the ultrasound of my balls, he said I have a Varicocele. On the internet it said this can be caused by STD's such as Chlamydia and Gonn. If it has been caused by this then surely I could have picked up HIV too?
I went ashore to Doctors today and he told me I had a left Varicocele. Does anyone know if this could have been brought on by an STD I picked up from the above situation? If so, then HIV could be on the cards also??

Your condom did not break, therefore you were protected. Intact latex condoms don't have holes that let HIV through. It doesn't matter where the condom was manufactured. These urban legends that are messing with your mind have no basis and the people who spread them have no education in HIV.

I remember the condom pouch having said LOT and then some numbers. Is this good sign?
Lizzie, I understand what you are saying that protected sex is very safe but when I've been speaking to these Filipino's who have been at sea for years, they seem to think that Chinese condoms are full of holes and small defects. I think my left armpit node has started now. If a condom is of poor quality, could it have very minor holes inside? I know you say move on, but its difficult, I've orderd a test but I wont get it until we reach Australia

Teak - everywhere seems to point that enlarged axillary lymph nodes that are not painful could definitely be HIV. What would you say? I only have one enlarged.

I read that some Chinese brand condoms are 'knock-off'. If it didnt rip could it be that the quality is poor with microscopic holes in that doesnt happen elsewhere with Durex etc?

You did not contract HIV from using a condom even if made in China. The UK and US also uses condoms made from China.
