Please help me with evidence !

Hello,

Please help me in my two points which are as follows:

1) I did a blood test for HIV after (94 days = 3 months) of the exposure and thankfully it came NEGATIVE.

My doctor is telling me the results are good indicators, But they are not conclusive and that I should test again at 6 months. My doctor is a very close friend with Dr. Pablo Tebas, M.D. (http://www.uphs.upenn.edu/idd/tebas.html) who has done plenty of researches and studies in HIV field and he again Dr. Pablo Tebas confirmed to me what my doctor recommends which is that only 6 months results are conclusive.

So, Could you please provide me evidences about the accuracy and the reliability of 3 months test ?

2) I read from some of the contributors on this forum (Not Teak) that 3 months test is conclusive if and only if the exposure was with unknown status person, But if the exposure was with HIV+ person, then, 6 months test are the only conclusive one. How accurate is that?

Please get back to me regarding the two aforementioned points.

Thanks in advance for your great support and help !

Teak always says 3 Months is conclusive and find another doctor because 6 Months is outdated and this other doctor that you mention is wrong aswell, unless you are a chemo or transplant patient on meds or a chronic iv drug user which I doubt you are any of the 3 catergory of people then it will always be 3 months.Congratulations, you're 100% HIV negative.

Thanks a bunch Teak for your speedy help and support.

But, What do you think about the second point:

Your doctor is incorrect and not up date on the testing guidelines. You have a conclusive negative test result.

In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results
