Positive for Syphilis - HIV Risk

During a routine STD check that included Hep B, Chlamydia, Gonorreah and Syphilis i tested positive for Syphilis.

I have had about 14 unprotected blow-jobs from girls as i am heterosexual and the odd cunnilingus during the last 8 months. This forum says Syphilis is rare but is possible to transmit orally and HIV is not a concern. My worry is if i contracted Syphilis earlier and received an unprotected blowjob at a later date does this increase the risk of me acquiring HIV if oral was my only exposure?

According to my doctor who did the test he said Oral is not a risk for HIV even if i received a blowjob while i had contracted syphilis because blood needs to be present to transmit HIV and Syphilis can be contracted with contact with a lesion hence he said HIV testing is only recommended for my mental clarity.

Is this a true opinion? Can i just continue my Syphilis treatment and not worry about HIV

Hi Thanks for your reassurance -  just a quick follow up if you don' t mind - i will appreciate any and all feedback from someone competent to answer since i can't ask questions from the Doctors anymore.

Exactly 1 week after my VDRL positive test, penicillin shot and still on Doxy for Syphilis, my curiosity got the better of me and i went to another clinic where the doctor said that Syphilis approximately takes 30 days to get out of your system after treatment, yet he performed a TPHA Finger Prick Test which came out non-reactive for Syphilis and he said it was conclusive.

I am a bit confused now - does this mean my VDRL tests done the week prior were false positives or the medication and penicillin shot worked?

Does Syphilis cure in less that a week? Do i have to test again at a later date to ensure its out of my system or is there is chance of Syphilis re-emerging even if i abstain from all forms of sex?

I am just a tad bit confused here. I just want to know based on the above if its truly out of my system. There are no STD specialists here, mostly only GP's so i get random answers.

All this also happened while i noticed no physical manifestations of syphilis on my genitals except for a slight blister on the back left side of my tongue where the doctor who performed the TPHA test concluded it might be where the STD gained entry. Since i am a Heterosexual and only engage in receiving BJ's this year the only way i can think of this happening is by deep french kissing which i have engaged in.

Any and all feedback is appreciated - thanks for everyone's time in advance

Receiving oral No risk. It's true that having an STD makes one more susceptible (due to inflamed tissues from sores) in your case I would not worry about it.

I must also mention that i never had any Syphilis symptoms - no sores, joint pains or anything to make me aware. I did two rapid tests and a VDRL Lab Test to confirm. During this time i never had intercourse everything was oral.
