Possibility of contracting HIV

Please help!

5 weeks ago, I got extremely drunk and visited a TS escort. I performed unprotected oral sex on her and she ejaculated into my mouth. She was kneeling over me and 'aimed' to my mouth, so some missed and hit my face, but the was some in my mouth too. There wasn't much ejaculate. Afterwards, she tried to have protected sex with me, but I wouldn't fit (my 1st time), I did feel the condom on her penis. We then switched position and I penetrated her with protection. I ejaculated about 1 minute later.

I have asked her several times since and she insists that she is a healthy person and I need not worry....... but I do. Damn the internet!

I have had no sore throat, no rash, no fever, no aching joints (no more than usual anyway) ... only thing has been a 'lump' in my throat sensation, but I'm thinking that is anxiety.

I'm booking in for a test next week, but they said it will take a further week to get the results back. I'm completely stressed and worried about the situation. Is testing warranted at all for this encounter or is my paranoia/anxiety/fear of HIV getting the better of me?

Many thanks

As you were advised, you had no risk for HIV.  Any test you would take runs a risk of a false positive, and you do not need to test since you had no risk.  There isn't anything that can be added to this thread.

As an adult, the only risks for HIV are:
1) having unprotected, penetrative vaginal or anal sex, or
2) sharing IV drug needles with other IV drug users.

You had NO RISK for HIV.  There is no detail that you could add to this story to make it a risk for HIV.  Testing is not warranted in this situation as you had no risk; however, if it will make you feel better AND you can accept the results, it's your choice to test or not.  But you didn't get HIV from this event.

Thank you for your reply. I read some articles etc that it is 'low risk not no-risk' so I started to freak out.

I'm hoping that it's because there's no recorded/documented cases, but they still can't 100% confirm it as no risk, so they say low risk?

I am just freaking myself out right?
That is, unfortunately, exactly what you're doing.  It is a largely theoretical risk, which means that it COULD happen, in theory.  That is why some sites list it as "low risk" - they are very conservative.  Fact is, you are more likely to be killed by a vending machine or a golf ball than to get HIV from oral sex. Those events are documented to have happened many times, unlike getting HIV from oral sex.

Protected sex is, of course absolutely zero risk if the condom stayed intact, and you would know for sure if it had not.
Thank you for your kind words and advice.
I was doing so well yesterday after your reply, but now I've started to crumble again. What if all the comments are wrong? What if I get tested and it's positive? Could it be a false positive? How likely is that to happen? ....it goes on! I've reached he point now where I'm convinced it's going to be bad news :(
Sorry... I keep asking stuff.... I'm just so worried. Are false positives common?
