Possible HIV Contraction

To whom it may concern,

I'm a 19 year old male, and on the 12th April 2014, I had vaginal and oral sex unprotected with a friend of a friend which I trusted both their testimonies of being clean having said to have been tested within the month.

About 2 weeks after this event having not thought or worried about anything, I fell ill with a flu, no fever, rash, sore throat, swollen glands or sore joints or muscles. Alongside the flu, my paranoid immediately convinced me it was HIV.

Today on the 2nd May 2014, I went to the doctors in Switzerland, and they took a blood test and it was negative, but the doctor recommended I should do another one on July 12th, approximately 3 months after the possible exposure since its not definite.

Do I have reason to worry? And I shall follow through in 2 months with the other test.

In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results

That's very true. But the doctor said its a very low possibility nonetheless, given the circumstances I've outlined anyway. I shall learn from this lesson.

What's your experience on 3 week almost 4 week HIV and other STD blood testings in relation to threads posted?

Nothing to panic about now, you've already had an exposure.
Had you used a condom, you wouldn't be in this predicament.

I'm still really panicky despite the negative result and my plans to get tested on the 7th May again.

Is there any reason to panic?

My paranoia and anxiety are really killing me.

This is the last time without a condom!
