Possible HIV Exposure. Statistics?

Possible HIV Exposure. Statistics?

Recently, I have become very, very anxious about my HIV status.

I haven't been tested in 2 years time.  Over that period, I have done the following things that may be considered a risk to acquire HIV.

I had unprotected insertive anal sex with a woman one time.

I had unprotected vaginal sex with 3 women, each once.

I performed oral sex on 10 women (unprotected).

None of these women were prostitutes, and we did discuss HIV status and drug use status beforehand.  All said that they do not use drugs and were disease free (but who knows...)

I live in New York City. I'm not sure what implications that may have on stats, but I'm sure demographics have something to do with it.

Anyway, I've been trying to muster up the courage to go get tested, but am frankly nervous to death.

I still would consider myself lower risk profile?  Is that accurate?

Well, first thing this morning I went to get tested.  One of the harder things, due to my skyrocketed anxiety that I've had to do.

Fortunately, I am negative and it's been significant time (2 months) since my last sexual experience.

I think it's safe to say that my high levels of anxiety are not worth an irresponsible roll in the hay unprotected in the future. New year, and time to turn over a new leaf.

I also have to say that this website is probably the best in regards to HIV that I've seen on the net.  And for better or worse, I must have spent hours upon hours scouring the internet over the past couple months, which only heightened my anxiety.
Thanks to everyone who makes this forum a very useful and informative one.

Other than the oral sex. You put yourself at risk. You need to test.

Yes, obviously your test result proves you were low risk.  Highest risk and by far the most common is receptive anal and IV needle sharing.  End of story.

Glad to hear about your negative result, and good for you for having the courage, despite your anxiety levels, to go get the test.

As you said, probably wiser to just go ahead and protect yourself in the future. I have heard it said on this site, as well as many others: consistent and correct condom useage, for every act of vaginal and anal intercourse, will practically guarantee you a life without HIV.

Probably uneeded advice, as, given what you have been through, I doubt you'll be having unprotected sex anytime soon.

Take care of yourself.
