Possible HIV Exposure?

Hello forum,

I am a male. I had sexual intercourse about a month ago with a girl I met. I used a condom. I had been drinking and could not ejaculate. I fell asleep with the condom on. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed the condom was not rolled down all the way to the base of my penis and that there was some fluid inside the condom. Since I did not ejaculate, I'm assuming this was vaginal fluid that was able to get inside the condom. This was abroad and since I've returned to the US, I've felt under the weather. I took a test about a week ago and it was negative, however, I know this was far too soon to be conclusive. Can someone give me an idea of my risk level? I wouldn't be panicking but this current cold has me highly concerned.

You've already been advised that you had no risk. You were also advised that you could test for peace of mind.

Hello again - still experiencing some neck discomfort (I'm assuming it's my lymph nodes), I  have no other symptoms. Quick question, would a shingles rash, 3-7 days after my possible exposure be a symptom of ARS?

You've already been advised that you had no risk from protected sex.  If you must test, test at 4 weeks with a DUO

I hear you. I may have to take a test, because my anxiety is driving me crazy. This is the LONGEST my neck/lymph nodes have been swollen that I can remember (at least a week), also I have some white coating on my tongue, which I know can be a symptom. The possible exposure was back in mid-March, which coincides with the typical timeline for symptoms..... I'm very concerned.

This is called ANXIETY . it wont go away simply as you think!  You dont have risk !

If you still worrying get one test now !

My Personal experience:

When i came to medhelp , everyone stated me NO RISK , initially i believed , then again , when ever something happened in my body , i match with ARS symptoms . Even i said , i am not in stress/anxiety , so i decided if the symptoms are really ARS my test will come positive right?
so i took N number of test , when ever i get symptoms. All came back with NEGATIVE. Just calm down , if you done believe , take test , but atleast believe your test , because next step of anxiety is whether the test is true or faulty or i am still not seroconverting , your mind will play many 'What if'

My anxiety went away for a while, but recently I've had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and a congestive cough for about 4-5 days. How are these typical ARS symptoms? The possible exposure was about 6 weeks ago....

I generally feel well, but am concerned.

Actually what I said was that you had no risk BUT if your anxiety continues to disrupt your live, have a DUO test.

Right now, you DO NOT NEED TO TEST!

Thank you for your reply!

The tip of my penis was definitely covered. My concern was that since the condom was rolled up about halfway or so, couldn't some of her fluid have gotten into the condom?

If the condom was still covering the tip (head) of your penis, you had no risk. The fluid was probably pre-cum. (yours)

You do not need to test but if your anxiety level remains high, have a 4th generation DUO test done at 4 weeks. This will give conclusive results and peace of mind.
