Possible HIV exposure

I am a bi man that rarely has sex with another man. Last night I met a man and had mutual oral and unprotected anal sex for a very brief period.  He had a difficult time getting an erection but was able and after placing the condom he was unable to penetrate me.  He fingered me for a while and then apparently was able to get an erection and entered me for a short time ( less than 30 seconds) without a condom before he became limp again.  He never ejaculated during the evening.  When he left I notice blood spotting on the sheets that I attribute to the fingering prior to unprotected penetration.  

He told me that he was disease free prior to sex, but I do not know him well.  Is PEP an option I should consider since it happened less than 24 hours ago?

You don't meed the nPEP guidelines but you'll need to discuss it with your doctor.

Thanks for the quick response.  I went tot he local health clinic since I am traveling at the moment.  The nurse/PA indicated that in order to get PEP I would need to go to the emergency room.  She thought the risk of infection was unlikely. I sent him an email asking how certain he was of his HIV status and will wait for a response this evening.  At that point I will act based on his response.  If he does not respond, my concern will be higher.

The only risk you had was the unprotected anal sex which I know that you already know. You can obtain your conclusive test 3 months post exposure and/or 3 months post your last dose of nPEP if you decide to go with it.

I am in the same boat...and I'm really freaked out about it.  It just happened tonight.  Teak I'm really worried.....
