PrEP and HSV 1/2

Hello, I probably have HSV 1/2 and am currently on PrEP, or Truvada (HIV-prevention drug). Are my chances of acquiring HIV still doubled (I think the reason is the cells HIV loves to infect are closer to the surface of the skin due to HSV), or are they same as if I weren't immunocompromised? Would taking antivirals in tandem do anything?

To reduce the risk of acquiring HIV, sometimes I use condoms, sometimes I don't, it depends on who I'm with.

Sorry I missed the r in that question.

Why are you on PrEP? Do you use condoms?

Assuming, need to retest in a few months.

Have you been tested for HSV?  Or are you just assuming?  Just use condoms for penetrative sex, and oral sex if you desire.

Then you will never have to worry about HIV.

No, PrEP, pre-exposure phrophylaxi, I am an HIV neg individual who was on PrEP, discontinued after I got the diagnosis because I am waiting to make sure I still don't have HIV in addition to HSV. Looking to go back on it if I ever get a casual sex life again.

Still need to know what risk you had. What did you do to make you go on PEP.

Don't know if I could quantify it, but I guess if condoms were and weren't used and they were on PrEP too, HIV neg.
