when is the VL high? if someone was tested at 6 weeks and neg, but really is positive just not enough anitbodies yet, do they have a high VL or a low one since they are newly infected?
most people, when they first get infected, usually have very high viral loads.
But remember, an antibody test looks for antibodies,....not the virus.
The thread of PCR DNA/RNA is what we were talking about when the tests look for the virus.
These tests are tests given to people who are currently infected with HIV and need to know their viral load.
If you are at the 6 week mark, it is without a doubt to get tested with an antibody test at that point.
Thanks for the clarification. I think I'm in the clear. I had my partner get tested at 6 weeks he was neg, and I tested at about 2 days shy of 6 weeks and was in the clear. We had a condom break during heterosexual vag sex.
