Protected sex & cunnilingus. Fever 6 days later.

Hi

I am a married man with two kids and did a very stupid thing.

On Tuesday 11/11. I visited an Australian brothel and had protected sex and performed cunnilingus on a CSW. There was no breakage to the condom.

On Friday 14/11 I performed cunnilingus on my wife and she briefly preformed oral sex on me. I did not ejaculate in her mouth. We have had a rocky marriage and this was the first time that we had been intimate in over 20 months.

On Monday 16/11 (6 days after my initial exposure) I came down with a low fever during the evening and was hot and cold for a couple of hours, I took some paracetamol and went to bed. I had no other symptoms ie - rash, sore throat etc. The next morning I awoke with no fever or any other symptoms besides a slightly groggy head.

On Tuesday 17/11 (3 days after my wife's exposure with me) My wife came down with a fever during the evening that lasted a couple of hours. She was hot and cold, but also achy. She took some paracetamol, went to bed and awoke with feeling fine the next day. She experienced no other symptoms ie - rash, sore throat etc..

I had been suffering from a chesty cough and runny nose of the period of time and it may have been linked to my fever, but I am also incredibly concerned that both mine and my wife's fever's could be ARS. My wife is breastfeeding my beautiful 10 month old daughter and I am terrified that I could have infected her as well as my wife.

My questions are as follows -

1. What is the chances of HIV infection via cunnilingus?
2. Is 6 days too soon for me to have ARS?
3. Is 3 days too soon for my wife to have ARS?
4. Can a brief low fever ( A lot less that 12 hours) be the only symptom of ARS?
5. Do you believe that I require testing after my exposure?

Any advice that you could provide would be greatly appreciated as I am incredibly anxious and devastated by my actions.

Kindest Regards

Choccy

if you are truly suicidal you need to seek out help ASAP.
Second, the exposures you describe did NOT put you at risk of contracting HIV, of which you were told both on this forum and by professionals in your country. Your anxiety an guilt are driving you to irrational thoughts. You need to seek out professional psychological assistance immediately as your symptoms are NOT HIV related.

Please help!

I am going crazy. If anyone has read my earlier post, there are have been some terrifying developments. As i said, I came down with a short fever on the Monday & generally felt ok until Thursday of last week. Since the Friday until today I have been suffering from a persistent fever that reaches 37.7. I wake during the night with chills & my entire forehead has been bright red since Friday. I also developed a mild sore throught for a couple of days, but I put that down to too many cigarettes & air conditioning.

I went to the melbourne sexual health centre & informed them of my symptoms, encounters & exposers & they wouldn't even test me. They said categorically that I don't have HIV.

I am so stressed by all of this that I am near the point of suicide.

Please help - 1. six days after an exposure too sooner ars?
2. What about condom leakage? 3. Is 6 weeks after an exposure too late for ars? 3. Can the symtoms come and go? 4. Is an average persistent temp of 37.7 consistent with ars? Is a flushed forehead also a symptom?

Please help me. Please.

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.
If I could ask a couple final questions?

If I was (hypothetically) at risk would 6 & 3 days still be too soon for ARS symptoms. And could they (hypothetically) present as I have outlined?
Are there any known cases of infection via cunnilingus?
Does anybody know why the Doctor forum is unavailable & when they will be receiving questions again?

Thanks & all the best

Choccy.
