Your post was really helpful for me, just wanted to let you know.
We don't need your BS vols_29. I don't care if you live in the US or not. There is no reason to post BS that these people already know. And the forum doesn't need Public Service Announcement from a worrywart.
I appreciate your knowledge and excellent adviice in the majority of the forums. But this is the United States of America and with that we have the "freedom of speech"
If someone is giving "inaccurate advice" then you have everyright to intervene but I feel that I have every right under the 1st amendment to speak my mind with out intimidation or humilation.
MOVE ON. We don't need a "Public Announcement" on the forums. I'm sure everyone can read the explanation to the left had side of the page without you trying to intercede.
Thank you for your time posting a question.
I am newby to this site. I feel that people who give advice and encouragement are doing so in the kindness of their heart. However, any advice in any medical forum is only advice. It is your decision to take the advice or consult with your primary care doctor however millions of Americans do not health health insurance. So many HIV tests can be done for free through local or state government agencies or even gay/lesbian communities provide free HIV swab testing. The bottom line is that I believe that the majority of viewers in this forum ussually end up being negative and hopefully the scare of contracting HIV will make someone take better measurements next time before it is to late. Any human of any race or gender can get HIV doesnt matter if your Brad Pitt or
Jessica Alba HIV doesnt discriminate.
If you don't have a risk, there is no need to test.
Testing is not something that's "easy" for one to go through. Often, it's a nerve-racking experience for the tester and takes a huge amount of emotional investment, and there's always the small possibility of obtaining a false positive. There is no reason for someone who has no risk to test. None. For those people, they need to be seen by a therapist to help them with their anxiety issues.
The funny thing about humans is, we can often convince ourselves things that fly in the face of logic. As Dr. HHH as mentioned numerous times, think with the logical left side of your brain and don't be ruled by your emotional right side. Emotions are strong feelings, but when it comes to medicine and science, you need to examine the facts and base your thoughts on that. This is exactly the reason why professionals (lawyers, doctors, nurses, etc) don't medically care for their own family. When it comes to things like that, it is so easy to be ruled by emotion - and emotion is not what you should be ruled by when it comes to make these medical decisions.
If there is never a risk why would you test if you have never put yourself at risk? Are you going to test for a fractured leg when you've never injured it?
i have no intentions to riase brows with doubts about answers and am too small to that. just asking for assuranc
