RISK?

I honestly believe I have no risk from what I've read but if someone could answer these few questions, it would really put me at ease:

1. What is the likelihood that precum would live outside its host? At what point does it become inactive?

2. Does brushing your teeth before getting a bit of precum in your mouth put you at risk?

3. Are a low grade fever and a consistent dry throat ARS symptoms after 2 weeks of exposure? My temperature is 99.1 F and I've read that between 98.6 plus/minus 0.9 is normal, and now I'm not sure?

4. What ARS symptoms are more common and what is their severity?

I'd love it if someone could answer these without simply stating "no risk from oral sex" as the answers to these questions I find are more useful to me.

Thanks.

"As far as HIV is concerned, there is no known risk of getting HIV from performing oral sex on an infected partner, even if that person's genital secretions get into your eyes or if you swallow." Dr.Hook

Ok last thing - can you just answer what I asked earlier about why sites say risk is higher with ejaculate.... Yet how would NO EJACULATION pose any risk? :S

Every man and his dog gets a sore throat,it's not uncommon.I wouldn't worry about it because this is not related to your exposure.Your safe.

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who believe that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." Dr. Hook
"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK
"I would not say your risk ,if he had HIV is "slim to none"- that's too high.  I would say they are effectively zero.  How much of his ejaculate or other genital  secretions you may have swallowed makes no difference.  EWH "
"As far as HIV is concerned, there is no known risk of getting HIV from performing oral sex on an infected partner, even if that person's genital secretions get into your eyes or if you swallow." Dr.Hook

It doesn't hurt to swallow, eat, drink, nothing. It's just a bit red and feels dry.

My sore throat has been there for 1.5 weeks and it doesn't hurt. Does it still count as severe?? Like what's severe??

You would not have ARS symptoms because you've never had an exposure.  You're welcome.

Classic ARS symptoms are extremely sore throat, very high fever and a rash on the trunk--torso and limbs. They appear 2 weeks after infection and last for 1 to 2 weeks. They don't come and go and the rash doesn't itch. Also, the Hiv virus becomes inactive as soon as it is exposed to air and therefore is unable to infect you.Your safe.

Thank you Teak. What would an ARS fever/sore throat be like?

1. It doesn't
2. No
3. No and you never had an exposure
4. You are going to get ARS symptoms because you never had an exposure.

HIV IS NOT TRANSMITTED BY ORAL SEX.

Also - why do sites say that oral sex risk is higher with ejaculation? As oppose to what? No ejaculation? I'm confused as to how no ejaculation would pose any risk.
